COURSE OVERVIEW
This course includes over 80 video learning sessions that provides the pathway on how to become a certified sports agent and most importantly how to position yourself to be successful. We share invaluable tips that we've learned along the way that will save you time and money.
For people thinking about getting into the business we offer a wide-ranging view on the requirements needed to be a sports agent. We provide a general overview of the business, requirements of the job, attorneys vs. non-attorneys, outline the sports agent landscape, potential start-up costs, show how to research the industry, tips to secure internships and explore the option to work with an agency or start your own agency.
We then talk about what sports you should pursue as a sports agent and breakdown the requirements for each sport. We go through the entire process on how to become a certified sports agent in every major professional sports league including the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, FIFA Soccer, CFL, USA Track & Field, FIBA Basketball and WNBA. We also breakdown sports that do not require agent certification. Then we outline the various state regulations and school registration processes.

On the athlete management side, we discuss setting budgets for your athlete, documenting client activity, keeping your client updated on all activities and visiting your client at all important events. As well as finding the appropriate training and nutrition programs.
In the professional sports arena, we talk about managing strategic relationships with pro sports personnel and how to build relationships. We also discuss strategies on how to proactively promote your client to pro sports leagues and securing tryout opportunities.
On the marketing side we discuss how to create a brand strategy for your client, leverage his personal interests and develop a target list for potential marketing opportunities. Then we dive into sports that survive solely on sponsorships and how to identify potential sponsorship assets, develop a sponsorship package and how to pitch your opportunity.
After that we discuss public relations strategies. How to develop local and national PR campaigns, develop a media target list, proactive media outreach tips, writing press releases, social media strategies, developing a crisis communication plan and exploring charitable endeavors.
We then talk about contract negotiations where we outline tips on how to successfully negotiate player contracts with professional sports leagues and how to negotiate complicated marketing contracts.
Lastly we discuss strategies on how to build your own personal agent brand, how to raise your profile and promote your own brand. As well as tips on how to be successful in the business and grow an enduring career. Alongside each lesson you will also find additional resources that will make your journey a little easier.
